About Us

Our History

Reliance Credit Union was founded in 1931 serving the public utility employees in the Kansas City area. Since then we have expanded our membership profile to become a community credit union. Click here to view our specific membership guidelines.

We understand that you have a lot of decisions to make about your finances. We are dedicated to providing a safe, convenient place for our members to save and obtain loans at a reasonable rate. Why? It's simple – our members own and control the Credit Union. Reliance Credit Union is a non-profit cooperative with a Board of Directors that is elected by our members, not stock holders looking to profit from your money.

It is important to compare choices when it comes to your money. We are confident you'll see the Reliance Credit Union difference. We look forward to serving you!

Board of Directors

Reliance Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution. Therefore, members take an active role in the Credit Union by electing fellow members to serve on the Board of Directors. These volunteers serve without pay and oversee operations. An additional set of checks and balances is provided by the Supervisory Committee. The Committee ensures the Credit Union maintains its financial integrity and that members' concerns reach the employees who can best improve our service.
